Aparece en la escena musical chilena en el año 1997, cuando el virtuoso estadounidense Steve Vai lo invita a participar en su concierto realizado en el Teatro Teletón. Antes de esto Alejandro estaba abocado a la docencia en la academia Projazz y no estaba participando activamente en ninguna banda. También es invitado junto a otros virtuosos nacionales por Paul Gilbert, en la primera clínica de el maestro en nuestro país, el año 1998.

En el verano del 98/99 su música comenzó a ser difundida con gran exito en la desaparecida radio Concierto y más tarde, en Mayo de 1999 finalmente lanza su primer larga duración "I" (uno).

Este disco progresivo instrumental generó un gran revuelo entre los fanáticos de la guitarra, pues fue el primer trabajo de esta clase en nuestro país.

Como un medio para promocionar el disco Alejandro forma en Julio del 99 "Alejandro Silva Power Cuarteto" (ASPC) junto a Gonzalo Muga, Cristóbal Arriagada y Guido Fregonara, todos ellos vinculados a la academia Projazz.

ASPC se dedica a tocar en clubes el resto de ese año con gran exito. Luego de una pausa de 7 meses retoman el año 2000 los conciertos, continuando con lo habian logrado el año anterior. Alejandro participa junto a Gonzalo Muga en la clínica de Billy Sheehan y más tarde Alejandro vuelve a tocar con Steve Vai en el estadio Victor Jara.

Alejandro es invitado a participar como guitarrista del grupo "Mandrácula" a principios del 2001 y participa junto a ellos en múltiples festivales de rock hasta Noviembre del 2002, fecha en la que deja la banda.

Power Cuarteto descansa los primeros meses del 2001 mientras Alejandro graba su segundo trabajo "Dios Eol". Este disco es lanzado oficialmente en Abril del 2002 en un evento que bate records de asistencia de público para este estilo de música.

Desde mediados del 2002 los discos "Dios Eol" y "I" se ofrecen en el prestigioso sitio internacional www.guitar9.com, logrando estar entre los cuatro CDs más vendidos por varios meses.

Alejandro se hace parte del "Ibanez Army" en Abril del 2002, septeto de guitarristas endorsados por la marca japonesa de guitarras "Ibanez". Para esta marca realiza diversas clínicas y presentaciones demostrativas en todo el país, dentro de las que se destaca una clínica junto al guitarrista norteamericano Andy Timmons y en Diciembre del 2003 y otra, como invitado, junto a Marty Friedmann.

No me hace raro comentar este disco, yo posteando un disco que es casi música clásica. Pero si admitimos el jazz, el progresivo, el minimalismo, ¿por que no hemos de admitir la música clásica?. Y mas en este disco donde las violas son eléctricas, existe sección rítmica, y tocan como si fueran un grupo de rock.

les recomiendo la versión del "Eleanor Rigby", al publico de mi blog les tiene que gustar

decirles por ultimo que en la música clásica no se salta ni se chilla, se esta uno quietecito con el telefono apagado en su silla, así que si les entran ganas de hacer esas cosas no se corten ni un pelo.

Para el momento en que se creó Liquid Tension Experiment, Rudess aún no formaba parte de Dream Theater. A pesar de que algunos formulan la teoría de que fue invitado a unirse a causa del éxito de Liquid Tension Experiment, es sabido que él ya había rechazado una oferta para integrarse en 1994, ocasión en la que se volvió miembro de Dixie Dregs en vez de Dream Theater.

La música que realiza la banda es enteramente instrumental, y puede enmarcarse dentro del metal progresivo.

Liquid Tension Experiment lanzó dos álbumes, Liquid Tension Experiment (1998) y Liquid Tension Experiment 2 (1999) a través de Magna Carta. 'También hicieron algunos espectáculos en directo en New York, Filadelfia y Los Angeles. Mike Portnoy ha declarado en numerosas entrevistas (y en el FAQ de su sitio web) que no habrá un tercer álbum de LTE, pues tres cuartos de la banda ahora están en la alineación de Dream Theater. Sin embargo, varias canciones y riffs han sido incorporados en las presentaciones en directo de Dream Theater, como por ejemplo el medley instrumental de Live at Budokan.

En el año 2007 se edita un nuevo disco bajo el nombre de "Liquid Trio Experiment", conformado por antiguas grabaciones que Mike Portnoy tenía guardadas. Todas las melodías son sesiones de improvisación realizadas durante la grabación de "Liquid Tension Experiment 2" en la ausencia de Petrucci que estaba pendiente del nacimiento de su hija. El nombre "Liquid Trio Experiment", que sigue manteniendo las siglas LTE, se debe precisamente a la ausencia del guitarrista.

Bueno aqui "Melodic Metal" les tengo un diskito de unos amigos de Mexico q' esta muy muy bueno de death melodico RECOMENDADO para los amantes del Death y si es melodico mejor todavia este disco tiene unos tokes muy bellos melodicos/armonicos y una tecnica muy aplicada este disco es exelente y no defraudaran a ninguno q lo oiga y... y siempre para apoyar el metal latino americano.

Fué en el verano de 1997 cuando nació una banda llamada Tears of blood, la formaban Carlos Torres (voz y guitarra), Adrián Espíndola (guitarra) y Andrés (batería), este último abandonó la banda en poco tiempo, después de encontrar a Nicolás (batería), la banda empezó a trabajar en lo que sería su demo debut, poco tiempo después Nicolás también deja la banda y es cuando entra Iván Herrera actual baterista, cambian el nombre de la banda a DELIRIUM y así empiezan a grabar el primer demo "Remember", con 6 tracks de puro melodic-death-metal con toques depresivos y melancólicos. Este demo se grabó en el año 2000 en los Estudios Capto de la ciudad de México, D.F.

DELIRIUM en busca de complementar su música busca un bajista y es así cuando entra Adrián Garces, él duro muy poco en la banda así que en julio del 2001 entra Arturo Zúñiga al bajo y coros para dar forma a la alineación definitiva de la banda.

DELIRIUM grabó su primer LP "A day after die..." en los WOODHOUSE® Studios de Alemania, musicalmente sigue en la misma línea que su demo debut (death-metal

depresivo y melancólico), Este disco ya se encuentra a la venta y esta firmado bajo el sello de Woodhouse® Records (Alemania) y contiene 10 tracks, más un Video Clip de la canción "As we die for..." y una animación multimedia.

Actualmente Delirium acaba de terminar la grabación de su segundo LP y saldrá a la venta a finales de 2008.

Delain - Lucidity (2006)

Delain es una banda de "Metal Gotico Melodico" que fue fundado por Martijn Westerholt, el ex-teclista y hermano de uno de los fundadores de Within Temptation, Robert Westerholt. Abandonó Within Temptation en el 2001 cuando enfermó de mononucleosis infecciosa y empezó con Delain en el 2002, aunque no sería hasta julio del 2005, después de haber firmado un contrato con la discográfica Roadrunner Records, cuando comenzaron a grabar su primer disco.
